Ms Górnikowska specialises in litigation, particularly in the field of business criminal law. She has more than ten years of experience in conducting criminal trials both as a defence counsel, representative of the victim and a subsidiary prosecutor. She has successfully represented clients in numerous proceedings which won media publicity and earned her the reputation she has today.
Ms. Górnikowska's practice primarily covers issues related to:
- economic crime (concerning fraud, diversion of assets, corruption, irregularities in public procurement, money laundering and terrorist financing)
- copyright infringement
- market abuse
- tax offences (so-called “VAT carousels”)
- unfair trade practices and criminal sanctions in regulated sectors imposed on supervised entities and their top managers.
Ms. Górnikowska advises clients in their dealings with Polish and European criminal investigation and regulatory authorities, assisting them in the preparation, improvement and implementation of systems and controls, policies and procedures, including comprehensive systems for compliance with AML legislation.
Prior to founding the GRK Adwokaci law firm, Bogumiła Górnikowska worked with the law firm SPCG T. Studnicki, K. Płeszka, Z. Ćwiąkalski, J. Górski Spółka komandytowa for several years. She is a graduate of law studies at the Jagiellonian University.
Ms. Górnikowska has co-authored “Komentarz do ustawy o prawie autorskim in prawach pokrewnych” (a commentary to the Act on Copyright and Related Rights). She serves as a judge of the Disciplinary Court of the Kraków Bar Association of Advocates.
